It was just one tall can of 211.  I recorded the drive when I went to go buy it, took a screenshot on my ipad right before I went in so i'd know the time & date of the last time visiting the party store, and I wrote a note "About to drink for last time" and took a screenshot of that to document the date/time of the last time I drank.

But it still doesnt feel like it was good enough to really count.  It wasnt really that much (1 tall can of 211) and I remeber saying to myself at one point "like this is really gonna be the last time".  Now I'm thinking I should get a pint of whiskey, get nicely drunk, and christen that as the last time but on the other hand I dont want to.

I think maybe I should hear some stories of people who don't know the last time they drank or they're last time they drank was a disaster.  Its like everytime I find something wrong why it wasnt good enough and it doesnt feel right.

Good luck, man. It will never feel like it's enough until you've hit rock bottom hard a couple times or possibly not even then.

I feel like you know deep down that it actually was good enough because you owe that unsatisfiable voice that will never ever get enough exactly jack shit.

Stop now or say the same shit next week.

As someone who has kicked meth and alcohol respectively, I'll let you know right now that it's never going to be a good enough "last time" because it will never be like the FIRST time you enjoyed it.

You did the right thing, dude. I'm only about a month sober, but I feel great. I just pointed out to my wife last night when she was talking about drinking that I hadn't had a drink in a while and she stopped, thought about it, and was like "Yeah, you're right! What's up with that?" and even though it's been hard, I think about it now how nice it is to be able to look down on people who aren't able to kick it and know that I'm better than them at quitting drinking.

Like a fucking bitch.

Feeling good about looking down on people who can't quit their habits because you've been one month sober.

I've thought of an plan that I believe will work to make it for real this time.  I typed up an 'official document' that i'm gonna sign (right before I start drinking) saying that that is going to be the last time no matter what and no take backs.  Then I'll sign my name and also stamp my thumbprint in blood on it.

Last time shit can be difficult. To the person who chooses to give up their vice it seems like the last time should do justice to their vice. It should be one last good time and they hope it will be as memorable as the first. The problem we arrive at here is that if the last time doesn't do your vice justice one is tempted to retry. This can go on for some time because knowing it is the last time you want to get that last time just right.

My advice is get a liter of good whiskey, get drunk and reminisce about the good times you had with alcohol. Then be done with it. One can of beer doesnt constitute a good "last drink" imo.

Also its kinda overboard to sign your document in blood but you do you brah.
tl;dr: idealism will not un-rape you.

yeah thats why I'd do idealy, but I don't got alot of money to sacrifice so I'm just gonna get like a pint of black velet and maybe a tall can of high life or something, and basicaly sit in my chair and do that, as well as go on tinychat and watch videos/songs on youtube like i used to alot when I drank.

I'm only gonna stamp my thumbprint in blood, just sign my name in pen

There will never be a "last" drink that's good enough.
