Quitting opiates with the help of Ibogaine
« on: October 20, 2014, 10:15:17 pm »
So for the past year I've been zig-zagging through periods of sobriety and opiate dependence, stopping about three times but picking it back up no sooner than two months after I supposedly quit. It's a drain on my savings, kills my sex drive and testosterone levels and ruins my creativity, among probably other things. I'm going to kick this kratom I've been doing and just take low doses of tianeptine daily for a little bit as a nice little step down.

Okay - the main thrust of this thread. I've seen websites selling Ibogaine online, is it that hard to obtain? I want to kick this kratom and take a course of Ibogaine and see if it'll help me. Can anyone advise in this situation? I didn't see too much talk of this on zoklet when I was on there in the last few months.

You're addicted to....kratom?

Maybe you should just start smoking weed. It'll really knock your socks off.
Not Istanbul.

I know it ain't shit. I never abused the more potent opiates but I've been using tramadol and now kratom for going on 6 years now. The withdrawal and living without them isn't an issue per say, but psychologically you get accustomed to having a good feeling doing everything whereas in real life euphoria comes in fits and spurts. The PAWS will get to you after awhile unless you have self discipline, something I lack as evidenced by the opiate use.

I take it you've never tried the Ibogaine then?

Dude, I really doubt Ibogaine is going to help you quit Kratom. It sounds like you're more addicted to the act itself of doing Kratom. You just need to quit. That's it. Kratom withdrawals are like 1/1000th even the weakest of opiate w/ds.

I think you're just wasting your time. Chances are if you quit Kratom you're just going to do something else. Maybe you'll start over-eating and you'll get obese. Is that what you want?

I guess I didn't elaborate very well.. I mean, qutting isn't really the issue with me. I wanted to do the ibogaine to perhaps reinforce a new opiate free mentality. I guess I'm just looking for a work-around instead of doing the actual hard work involved. You're probably right that just stopping is really the real answer.

Do you really want to quit? That's the real question. The real answer is you should do whatever the fuck you want to do. If you want to try Ibogaine, you could do that and it might help, better to nip it in the bud I suppose. I've never actually heard of anyone using or getting Ibogaine, unfortunately. It's an illegal (in the USA at least) unlike Kratom which isn't technically illegal (yet). Why? I'd assume because Kratom and Ibogaine aren't profitable for pharmaceutical corporations.

IMO, the whole narrative of working, saving, being drug-free ect ect isn't for everyone. In a way, it's unnatural. Some people can do it, some just can't, and that's the way it is.

Yeah, the scheduling is a bit of a hurdle but I've seen it sold on various sites that ship to the US.. very curious. Anyhow, I've reached a point where I'm pretty successful and I feel like it's the one thing holding me back. I'm also pretty dedicated in the gym and eat a fairly clean diet yet I feel like the opiate use hampers my physique goals. I've kinda stopped doing most recreational drugs except for the occassional amp trip and am heavy on the nootropics these days.

I take it you're a ope user?

Ibogaine therapy is more suited for heavy addiction, not Kratom dependency.

Yeah, maybe this isn't what I need then. I'm hoping that using tianeptine in modest doses of 20mg 3x per day will be a good step-down and then maybe I'll stay on this or stop it altogether. I didn't realize the IboTrip lasted an entire day, it does sound very intense.

I was kinda researching ibogaine last week n would love to give it a shot.  Too bad it's illegal in the states.  I can't go to canada/mexico for the treatment right now, and like you said IDk about importing it.  Don't know anyone with a credible ibogaine source..

Sounds amazing tho.  Don't think it would really do much for you tho.. From what I gather it doesn't HELP the withdrawals so much as it makes you trip balls for 3-5 days thus avoiding the w/d's and also it is a mind expanding experience that will make you re evaluate your shitty life n start being responsible about your drug use.
