<3 me some gg allin
In general though I'm pretty ignorant of the post-hardcore->grindcore scene. I admit I liked a few slipknot tracks. I hate the fact that "hard" has turned into wearing masks and breakdowns on every track though. I sympathize with people who say slipknot is everything wrong with whatever generespace they occupy, but at the same time I think we need to have some more appreciation for the fact that artists have a really minimal level of control over the fans they attract.
Like let's be honest, there are a few SK tracks that are pretty impressively brutal in terms of both lyrics and (to a lesser extent, I'll admit) instrumentation. If douchebags latch onto that I don't think it's really fair to pin that on the artist, ya know?
