I found this really cool garlic crushing tool that probably has other intended purpose. It makes garlic easy though, just crush it with thing, remove garlic skin and slice.
easy ways to peel garlic:
*put the cloves of garlic into a container with a lid and shake vigorously
*take each individual clove in your fingers, and 'twist' the ends in the opposite direction. The clove will 'flex' and at least partially depeel.
*put the clove on a cutting board, and use the flat of a knife blade to gently 'crush' the clove against the board.

I am a fan of the smashing method personally....bonus it comes out smashed already and needs less chopping/slicing. Oh and I never do it gently, gently smashing anything is no fucking fun at all lol.
