Title: So my neighbors think I'm a pedophile

I may have mentioned before that I've been mentoring the neighbor kid. His home life sucks, he's a dork, and a major social outcast. That shit's rough when you're 10, I went through it myself.
We get along, so he hangs out at my place all the time. Mainly playing video games and watching anime. Kid's got good taste too, he's nuts about Death Note at the moment. Never mind that I'm old enough to be his dad, he keeps saying that I'm the older brother he always wanted.
Apparently having a kid come over and hang out all the time is starting to skeeve out some of the neighbors, and the goddamn trailer park rumor mill is going into effect.
So yeah. Fuck my life.

Yeah, life sucks at 10, especially if you're a social outcast and like video games and anime. I should know, I ticked all the above boxes back then. I would've loved a mentor/older friend back then, would've kept me from wasting my life on places like these. *rolls eyes at forum population* But seriously, don't give give yourself a reason to revoke that trust and if the parents tell you to back off, back off. If you don't want to, you can make like Suicidal Fish and behead one of the neighbours... It won't do anything, but you'll certainly have fun! yeah I know what you mean man, I used to live near these younger kids and they would see me carry my bass and guitar to my car all the time, they eventually came up to me and asked if they could play. so to not freak out there parents *they were beaner kids* I brought my guitars outside.. I realized this is lame they should play with the amp so I let them come in. They were a handful going through all my stuff. but hey what the hell the looked up to me and were interested in music so I felt like it's something I would do for anyone who wants to play the guitar. Though the way society is today I felt like I could be scrutinized any minute.
I lhave to walk by a baptist church with a kids daycare/playground to go get beer and they have a cop every afternoon standing outside staring me down with the soccer moms thinking I'm going to do something just because of they way I look or don't seem like the kind of guy that would have a child. Even my when I saw my neighbors son for the first time I innocently said "cute kid" then wondered if he took that the wrong way from because I'm a "wife beater" shit sucks

He lives two doors down from me. I also used to work with his phenomenal asshole of a brother.
Besides being weird and awkward, his psycho brother has a tendency to steal the kid's stuff and either sell it or set it on fire. His dad also has terminal brain cancer. So yeah, he's in a rough spot.

Good job. I had something similar; just after I finished high school the kid next door used to hang around my place all the time because his dad was dying of cerebral palsy and his mum was losing her mind. I felt sorry for the guy because he was the same, dorky and didn't have many friends on top of the rest... a few months after his dad died, his mum couldn't pay the mortgage and they moved away. I like to hope I helped him out a bit, but he's probably fucked up now.
fuck them if they want to call you a paedo. it might be a good idea if you leave windows and doors open when he's over though; people are less likely to suspect funny business.
