I don't know if this was already discussed in the PDF, but if you have a basement that's not conspicuous from the outside of the house, you can simply use that as well and cover up the entrance with a bookcase or whatever you like as long as it covers it up nicely. Of course though, it's most likely not going to fool any police doing a thorough search.
