2) There's no limit on the number of posts you select per day (try and be sensible), but if you choose more than one please put the best of your quoted selections first.
3) Give some reason why you think the best post, i.e. the first quote you posted, is the best you've seen that day.
4) If you revise your decision from No. 3, please say why.
5) And no, you can not choose your own posts!
I would get the ball rolling but I'm crippled by own rules (No.5) :biggrin: There are no rules as to what should qualify a 'best post', but I'd strongly encourage you to pick something that isn't just a flame or a one liner. Something with content or originality is much preferred. So... who's going to be the first in selecting the finest Sanctuary has to offer today?

I mean, do a certain percentage of members here really want this place to be a place where you go to see how many curse words you can type, or collectively work on cultivating the greatest/worst text written insult? I actually have no interest in being a Mod. I actually have no intention of sticking around here for any longer than necessary. My post count.. my lengthy replies to most threads.. that's just how I am. I have a tendency to ramble on, and the reason why I am here is because like most people here.. I need an outlet. Into Sanctuary serves that purpose.. But honestly, I can really only handle so much stupidity. Shit posts don't really bother me, and half the time.. I run with it. But I need more stimulating conversation and a less self destructive environment. Who knows, I may make a board of my own sometime and try to create the intellectually constructive version of what I had hoped this place could be... That said, there is nothing wrong with this forum.. It really is no better and no worse than its predecessors at this point. And if I do take it upon myself to take up the mantle of architect for my own vision, I probably wont relay that information to the community here.. No offense to anyone, but you'll either find it upon yourself one day or just never know that it exists. I wouldn't want to siphon from this community because I actually have an honorable bone or two.. and.. I'd undoubtedly get an influx of trolls that I could spare myself with by never making my project directly aware to them in the first place..
So just to clear that up, even though I know you and a few others love my posts so incredibly much, I really am a short timer here.. I'd say a few weeks to a month tops. The problem with fusion is that we'll probably need Helium 3 to get that working in our lifetimes, which means mining it from the moon. This is because deuterium-tritium fusion tends to burn out the containment magnets with high energy neutrons.
Until we have better battery technology, transportation is going to have to run on chemical fuel (not necessarily fossil fuel in origin) due to the energy density. Of course, if more of our shipping was done via rail, it wouldn't be overly difficult to rig a way to supply power.
The biggest problem is that people are total pussies about nuclear. Our electricity needs would be set except for that the public still thinks that nuclear plants glow in the dark (you catch more radiation from the exhaust on a coal plant), and that the nuclear industry is too cheap to reprocess their waste, which would all but eliminate the nuclear waste problem.
Of course, wind/solar are also good, because they will never run out and reduce the amount of consumables needed, as well as grid load, if managed properly.
