We would do well to note that the moderators on Zoklet were so numerous that they formed cliques, and this created a natural divide between most moderators and normal users. Zok highlighted this issue as something needing correcting, even. The "us vs. them" mentality.
To my mind, the best way to prevent this from happening again is to keep the number of mods as low as possible. Zoklet was highly over-moderated, and as we all know that resulted in nothing but drama. We each have report buttons staring at us on each post this forum has. If there's an issue, press it.
No convoluted mod/admin hierarchies please, Arnox. Simple. Functional.

Even just two or three more would help tremendously. They could even not have banning capability, just people who can clean up the boards and moving stuff around and would tell the mods who can ban what the deal is. I dunno, I'm not a website running kind of guy, just an idea.

Really good point. I guess an optimal set up for now at least would be overlapping time zone mods? Even that could work with half a dozen. I think the way they are made mods needs to be settled. It CAN'T be anyone involved in the drama going on between zoklet members right now I assume. Probably some folks Arnox would already have in mind and can trust.
