It all seems so strange to me. A lot of truth in this thread (uploading anything anywhere is NOT secure, tons of women are subjected to this treatment, celebrities aren't as special as they seem to think, etc.) but I think this whole unfortunate situation is created by our collective consciousness which, unfortunately, is full of delusion.
There are shitloads of stories on the internet about women having awful things done to them, including the same "violation of privacy" and even worse.....and nothing happens. There is no justice. But when a celebrity goddess has something happen OMFG YOU BETTER FIX IT. Some guy got 10 years in prison for leaking Scarlet johanson nudes. Does that happen to people who leak Betty Sue girl next door nudes? Nope.
Privileged people get privileges.

Hmm. There are many places now that have "anti-revenge porn laws", and uploading pictures or video of your ex's is punishable by law. Don't think that only celebrities are being considered by the court systems and lawmakers. It's an unfortunate fact that leaks of pornographic nature can have a negative impact a person's employment/social status, and these days if someone's costing you money you generally have a legal case.
But yeah. Maybe when we as a society get over the fact that we're all naked under our clothes, and most of us have some sexual desires and inclinations, this won't be a problem anymore. Embracing and expressing sexuality are beautiful acts, and a truly enlightened world will be open and honest in their sex without the hindrances of embarrassment and shame.
