the thanks feature is probably the most important feature in modern history. what better of a way for me to tell you that I agree with you, without necessarily having a bunch more shit to add to it. a THANKS is like a FIRM NOD OF THE HEAD, ya know? It's like 'YUP, WE JUST BECAME BEST FRIENDS!'

i'd totally thank this if there was such a feature but now making this post is the new features I guess so  :-X :-\ :-X :-\ :-X :-\ :-X :-\ :-X :-\ :-X :-\

You should all kill yourselves. No worthwhile discussion board in the history of the internet has had a successful 'rep' system. It always ends up getting abused and does not reliably distinguish members based on the quality of their contributions. If you hang around for a couple weeks and read posts, you'll develop a much better sense of who's knowledgeable and who's full of shit.

Having 'thanks' as a means of indicating your agreement with a certain perspective is also a stupid idea. It encourages laziness and discourages constructive thinking, because it allows people to lurk in threads until they find a post that closely matches their views, then offer up a digital hand job instead of adding their own ideas or explaining why they agree with said perspective.

Do not want.

"Dopamine, though. Where's our dopamine? Everytime you see that thumbs up you get a rush, every like feels like a hit. Refresh, refresh, refresh... no new posts...?! This forum sucks, I'll kill myself."

Been there, done that. I've scattered over 50.000 posts all over the internet and what do I have besides a prostate the size of a goat head? Nothing, fucking nothing.

It's sooooooooooo good to hear it.
who's the judge of if its funny and or clever? the mods. period.

Your eCock seems swollen, fat and meaty but I'm RisiR. I only said 50k to not make you feel inadequate. In reality it's more like a Googolplex amount of first class content posts. I'm basically what's left from the internet when you cut off all the bullshit and gay porn. RisiR.

I disapprove of a thanks button.

End of story.

I also must down vote the thanks button unless it is made discrete. Anonymous and thread specific. Carrying around your 'look how many people suck my cock' badge is annoying and pointless but if the thanks never left the thread and was simply a number I wouldn't have a problem with it.
