Oh I completely forgot to say. Totse2 had a rep system. And then we took out because it led to (surprise surprise) circle-jerking and rep abuse. Ask Spectre about it if you like.
That is a specious analogy;
1) The Zoklet pos' rep system was different from Totse2's pos'/neg' rep system. As Equanimity might say 'people can only be nice to each other' with the Zoklet system.
2) The majority of this userbase is from Zoklet, not Totse2.
And actually, the general consensus (even from you I think) seems to be that Zoklet was terrible and poorly managed and run. Are you saying now that Zok had the right idea?
You seem to have a chronic desire to conflate general and specific situations when it suits you. I'm not sure who you are trying to fool; yourself or me. I would say that statement about Zoklet is
generally correct but the thanks system was not
specifically part of the problem.
And even FURTHER, others here DID NOT want it at all. Admittedly, it was less than the people who did but I already tried finding a Thanks system for us and I couldn't so it's not like I didn't try.
You've already conceded to the will of the majority on the site logo issue. And I think I've made a reasonable case for why a
positive thanks system could at least be trialled.
We could just try it. If it fails, then remove it.
Sometimes we gotta do things we don't want to do, just to keep our customers happy.
Thanks is fun, and as Idio said with no negative rep it shouldn't cause problems. Never did any harm on Zoklet.
Finally, you appear to think the userbase is significantly retarded and/or not to be trusted (for the sake of balance the feeling appears to be mutual), but consider the fact that half of your beloved "council" agree with me.
Are there any other "FURTHER" comments you'd like to make?
