As much as I agree with the principle of privacy, especially in this day and age, PMs, emails,IP's, logs, etc. is basically what's to be expected on any server and is necessary, if they're to be trusted with this info is really the only qualification.

I lurked on zok for what seemed like forever I would definitely like to see this site have as large a user base and variety of topics given it'll take time but why not make this shit as good as possible in the meantime..., given flaming is going to happen im all for that shit but the way people argue on here is ridiculous im trying to come up with a solution that keeps the majority of users happy

How is advertising "stealing?" Promoting a forum elsewhere is a better idea than closing registration to keep people out! Imagine that novel concept

Yeah, opening regs does seems like a good idea. Closing them never did zoklet any good. And I'd be down for some forum raiding/astroturfing considering we have so few people actually posting these days.
