2-its hard to put an age that EVERYONE is emotionally and physically mature enough to be ready for it, but 16 seems to be a pretty safe bet. it was 17 in texas, but if the two people were close in age the state would not press charges. here in PA its 16 but the parents have to give consent...which pretty much means its 18.

The fact that "The Prophet", may Allah bless him - or not, i'm not that much into guys who claim to have seen "the light" regardless of what they call their god-  approves or not adds or distracts very little to the validity of my opinion. 

Fact remains that regardless of religion, many regions in the world share my point of view.  Every culture looks down on pre-pubescent sex, many cultures, regardless of religion, are perfectly  fine with sexually mature people having a roll in the hay. 
And unlike islam, many of these cultures also have no problem with unmarried people having a roll in the hay.  Especially those less obsessed with the christian/judaic/muslim virginity cult.

As an aside: even our western -christian- age of consent concept changed numerous times throughout history.

The median age of menarche is under 13; by your logic fucking a 9 year old could be perfectly acceptable because their "biology is ready to go". That's bullshit. Physical and mental development at such an age are not synchronous, not that either would be at all likely to developed enough to safely engage in sexual relations. And that this was deemed acceptable in the past and by some today is irrelevant; that some degenerates past and present agree with you proves they hold the same opinion, not that your opinion is correct.

In my logic it would mean that, regardless of age, if a sexually mature boy/girl decides to have sex with someone, they're ready.  I rather doubt a 9 yo would wake up one morning going "gee, that virginity thing is overrated, time to lose it by bed time tonight"  The same goes for most (if by no means all) 13 yo's.  But at some point in time hormones will take over, and sex is gonna happen.  I fail to see how imposing some arbitrary age of consent by law would change that (or how this would somehow protect "the children" for that matter). 
As for the correctness of my opinion, it's just that: an opinion.  And i stand by it, regardless of what jesus, mohammed, Jahweh or Budda has to say about it.  None the less, i don't see you disproving my statement that consensus on the actual age of consent (as most other laws regarding sex) is rooted in culture and religion, not some enlightened idea of being sexually (or otherwise) mature.  Otherwise we wouldn't see such diversity of regulations throughout time or geography.
