Sploo, do you think there is, or could feasibly be, something you could combine with psychedelics, mainly LSD DMT psilocybin/psilocin mescaline, that could greatly reduce the chance of, strength of, or even eliminate the chance of a bad trip without interfering with the psychedelic? I'm sure you know that benzos generally abort trip, unless taken at very low doses, but even then it changes the character in a direction I don't want:
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/542674/fpart/1/vc/1Do you think d-cycloserine could help?:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cycloserine#Implications_in_fear_conditioning.2C_memory_consolidation.2C_and_extinctionThere are only a few reports with phenibut, one stated that lower doses seemed to have the intended positive effect, but higher ones
might reduce the intensity.
Here's an interesting anecdote:
Back many years ago when I was still experimenting with various nootropics/supplements and psychs(mostly aya) I've tried a small, barely thresh-hold amount of aya under above average effects of phenibut(somewhat euphoric and relaxed) and I couldn't believe how fast and how hard to was hitting me, I had to abort. The closed eyed visuals came on within half an hour and were very different, with classical fantasy creatures like fairies and fancy dressed wizards pointing to a deep well in the ground telling me its time to explore. I wish I proceeded with the experience however It wasn't the right time since it was mid-day and flatmates were present.
This is a possibility:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinazepamhttp://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/6147192These findings indicate that pinazepam is a pure anxiolytic agent devoid of hypnotic effect or motor disorders, characteristics that make it a useful drug for daytime use.
In particularly I'm interested in this, which I've brought up before, but it doesn't seem to be available anywhere:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ImidazenilImidazenil is a GABAA partial agonist[2] with an unusual profile of effects, producing some of the effects associated with normal benzodiazepines such as anticonvulsant and anxiolytic effects, yet without any notable sedative[3] or amnestic[4] effects. In fact, imidazenil blocks the sedative effects of diazepam, yet without lowering the convulsion threshold,[5] and so potentially could be a more flexible antidote than the antagonist flumazenil which is commonly used to treat benzodiazepine overdose at present.
This unusual profile of effects makes imidazenil potentially a very useful drug. In animal studies it has been shown to be an effective anxiolytic and strong anticonvulsant, yet without many of the side effects associated with other benzodiazepines; it does not produce tolerance[6] or dependence,[7] reverses the amnestic effects of conventional benzodiazepines, and does not potentiate the effects of alcohol.[8][9]
I know about the effects of inhibitory effects of GABA on neurotransmission, but for people with (far) below optimal levels this probably won't be as significant an issue, and that large norepinephrine and adrenaline releases can be a positive part of an experience, provide a feeling of exhilaration and energy. I'd like to experiment with it, if only I could my hands on imidazenil. Phenibut doesn't seem to have much of an effect on me, and I tried 3 or 4 grams without tolerance, with a boost later on. May have given me withdrawals the day after, though.
Also, what psychedelics have you done? I didn't even smoke weed until I was 23 and was an absolute undeveloped mess even at 18 when living with my parents and dealt with them invading my privacy, so I'm certainly not disparaging you. Have you thought about growing shrooms? It's incredibly easy to accomplish and hide, as long as you aren't a complete fucking idiot like most people apparently are, thinking it's as easy as planting a seed and requires no significant reading. DMT extraction would make you way cool.
