The south has a lot of great people. I love the people in the south but the place itself sucks dick. I got offered a ride to Colorado by an elderly couple in memphis. I was just chilling in a hotel since it rained while I was trying to hitchhike. Just sitting there and they strike up a conversation with me. I declined but that stuck with me. That would never happen up north, people just don't strike conversations with you here like that.

I'd say either Wyoming or Kentucky. Both seem rather laid back and chill.. Your going to find ignorant, racist, stupid, and dickish people all over.

Cross any north west state off the list. Kentucky is pretty friendly, especially small towns. Really hard to say, from my experience big cities tend to be unfriendly and generally hateful, go to a state with the most small towns I guess.

The south in general can be pretty friendly, but don't try to find friendly people in large cities. They exist, obviously, but in low concentration.

I'm not sure I understand. If you mean liberals in New Hampshire, well they are pretty close to liberals everywhere else. I chose New Hampshire mostly because you have a nice choice between the city and living more up north in the wilderness. The south is nice, but there are a lot of poor people and there is too much violence. I'm sure every state has one nice place to live.
