Adderall
« on: October 11, 2014, 04:04:45 am »
I recently started college, and just like any college Adderall is the drug of choice for studying and actually getting shit done.

I'm 125 lbs, and I took a 30mg dose at around 4pm.

I was in the library, I had it, and I was like "time to see what Adderall can do"

the short answer, is a whole lot.

I started my math homework for the night, finished that, did the next days, and the day after that...I kept doing math homework until I ran out of graphing paper. I have 6 chapters in the final unit of the course that I didn't do, but I'm more or less done for the semester. this was in MTH005 so its not as huge of an accomplishment as it sounds, but still.

then the library closed, so I went on a run...did 5 miles in about an hour and a half...it was weird, because I was motivated the entire run. usually I start being a lazy motherfucker around mile 3. Led Zepplin had me going harder than usual, maybe it was the music...either or, I was really feeling it tonight.

on the way back I stopped at my friends party, even in the loud ass party with people everywhere, I could focus on the drinking games like I have never been able to before. I could easily drown everyone out, and throw the ball. I don't ever recall being more coordinated at that kind of activity.

then I got back to my room, I was still in a DO DO DO mood, so I did laundry, and cleaned the kitchen+bathroom.

tl;dr Adderall gave me the motivation and focus to get shit done like I have never done before.

this was just a boring ass friday night, I can't imagine going through day to day life with this kind of mental power. I'm gunna try to get a scrip, but first I have a few questions

1-anyone have experience being a long time user? any downsides/shit I should know before I go through with this?
2-I have tested negative for both ADD and ADHD multiple times in the past. Can my new doctor find those test results?
3-Has anyone BS'd a scrip for this before? I'm confident I can make a compelling argument about how highschool was just so easy and I didn't need it, but now that I'm in college and I actually have to focus I think I might actually have ADD and bla bla bla...
Ill give you a hands-free prostate exam with the same instrument I use as a tongue depressor

1. Yes. And yes. (Google it for a detailed guide. In a nut shell, addiction, depression, weight loss, in general you will be less healthy, sex addition, skin problems, staying up binging like a fiend which seriously fucked up your brain and body, etc. I no longer do speed because of the negative side effects.)
2. Yes. Probably won't though.
3. Yes. I faked an ADD diagnosis and worked my way up to a dexedrine script. Pure d-amp. Way better than addys.

If you can use it responsibly, for school, it would be very beneficial. I couldn't. some people can some people can't. You start saying, yeah, I'll do some of this dex, rip this essay, you end up posting on forums/playing games/jerking off/having sex/smoking poppers, anything but the essay. Pure procrastination. Then you wake up 50 hours later totally fucked. Thats what I did, like 300 times, anyways.

Also are you a girl? Because if you're a guy at 125 pounds the last thing you need is fucking speed. My little sister could kick your ass blindfolded.

E: I will also warn against faking an add diagnosis for future career reasons. It won't apply most of the time, but after uni I considered joining the military. I would have started out as an officer and made decent money, with almost guaranteed fast track promotions. They don't take ADD tards (for good reason) but I assume once the dianosis is made you can't exactly just come out and say 'nah I was just fucking with yall I wanted to get high'. Some other high profile or government jobs might require medical records. So if you want to be president, go into space, fly a commercial plane, or shoot child soldiers, don't fake an ADD diagnosis.

thanks for the insight. sex addiction? more than I already have? lol. I'm fairly healthy to begin with, but I'll keep that in mind. skin problems would be a pain in the ass, I already did Accutain, and that shit will fuck up your day.

what did you tell your doctor at first? were you still living with your parents, or were you out?

I think I can use it responsibly, when I smoked weed I could stop on a moments notice and stay clean easily. I'm pretty good at getting my school work done anyways, at least I never get behind. all the addies did to me today was make me not be able to stop doing HW.

I am a dude. I'm 5'7 and fluctuate between 110-125. I'm just a small dude, I'm not anorexic or unhealthy, I eat a lot but I just can't break 130. another thread for another day.

military-already said no to that
I'm a technician, I'll be doing field work. I don't think they would care. as of now I have nothing on my medical record at all.

1. I've only used it every once in a while and didn't experience much in the way of downsides beyond paranoia and crashing hard.  But if you use it daily you could expect to see a disruption in circadian rhythm cycles, not the least of which involving sleep and appetite.  You could (or others could- sometimes we're a little oblivious of our own selves) notice an increase in agitation, nervousness and irritability.  Being high-strung generally isn't a good thing, and if that turns into strung-out you may find your schoolwork suffers.  I filled out a report for work on methylphenidate once and it prompted my boss to drug test me because it was like 3 pages long and insane, and I didn't even realize that might be an issue in my messed up state.

2. This really depends on how well organized the medical centers are in your area, and who is affiliated with whom.  In my city things were largely disorganized between individual practices just five years ago, but there has been a recent push toward simplified and streamlined record keeping.  When you visit a new doctor you're implicitly giving them permission to access nearly all of your medical records, because you're involving them in your care and that information is then considered relevant to their practice.

3. I've BS'ed lots of scripts for various things, but never this.  I started to work on it, but then fell into benzo addiction and mostly focused on getting tons of that prescribed.  Was started off on a concerta script when I complained of inability to focus.  If you're wanting amphetamines, it's likely going to take a few months of working them out of your psychiatrist.  Just be persistent about the problems focusing and the lesser medications not working; you'll get there.  If they've already given you a few different kinds you can straight up ask for it and act a little upset about the other scripts not working, and if they refuse you I'd ask them to refer you to another psychiatrist who would prescribe them.  They'll usually point you in the right direction.

Good luck!

I just changed states. I should specify most of the ADD/ADHD tests were performed through the school not the doctor.

I've been looking for a sketchy doctors office...it used to be easy in Texas, if you wanted prescriptions you didn't fuck around with scrips, you just went to Mexico...I just never had that problem there.

now that I've come off the adderall, I'm not sure if I want to be on it all the time. if I do get a scrip, I'll take it when I need it. something about doing dishes at 3AM while reading wiring diagrams isn't...exactly what I think my roomates call sane.

There is something about Adderall that just makes me feel like a filthy person. Coming down is usually a total crash and burn without benzos. Long-term will leave you with an emaciated complexion and skinny. If you weigh 125 then you'll look like a total creepster. There's also a possibility of temporary psychosis which one of my aunts has yet to get over but of course she might've had a predisposition. Just don't binge this shit, it not a nootropic.

Focalin is 200% better if you want to get shit done, because it's not like adderall where you can get sucked in to something stupid and meaningless and go off on a tangent organizing playlists and shit. Focalin gives you anxiety, which makes it harder to goof off. You still can still get sucked in to something else but less likely something stupid, because you still have your mind on "if I don't finish this, I'm fucked, and when this shit wears off I'm gonna be depressed and anxious and hate myself because I set up an online radio station instead of finishing my work", when adderall wears off you just don't care, or you care but aren't as healthily panicky to get it done because its an anxiolytic as opposed to focalin causing anxiety inherently.

Getting fun scripts like these is definitely an involved process these days.  Expect it to take a few months of working the psychiatrist up to it.  Lots different form just going to Mexico and buying whatever, but that's what most of us have had to put up heh.  Maybe it's a good thing?  You don't really need these drugs.

I didn't check to see if anyone had said this already, but if you start doing larger doses, despite the fact that it does "the same thing" due to tolerance, don't go for a fucking run. The more you take, the more vasoconstriction you experience, and the heavier the load on your heart. Having a run on 30 mg sounds amazing, but that same run becomes a little bit more dangerous on 120 mg.

Another downside...stay away from pornography, unless you plan to beat off unsuccessfully to the most disgusting things on the internet for about four to eight hours, and end up with the worlds most unsatisfying climax. Well, thats not entirely true. You might finish in about 30 minutes and then go at it another four or five times.

Maybe thats just me, though...(but its not, its all you fucks and you know it)

Also, all of this is entirely possible. Though, the nice thing about amphetamine-derived weight loss is that all of that weight comes back with a vengeance the moment you start eating again. You'd put the weight back on quite quickly, but its never good to turn into a near-skeleton with bags under their eyes so purple that Crayola could market them as "junkie black"

I've never personally gotten to this point, but I've seen it happen. And yes, it can hapen to you, OP. Don't dismiss the power of dopamine releasing drugs.

it is a bit of a threadkiller lol

after coming off of it, I have decided that I can deal with paying for it when I want it...its not that expensive, and it sounds like it would be a fair hassle to get a scrip.

i actually prefer adderall but just couldn't take the bruxism when i started crashing... so the switch to pure d-amp wasn't so bad.

i just love'd that "FUCK PICKING MY KID UP AT SCHOOL -- I'M SOLVING THIS RUBIX CUBE FIRST" attitude that the mixed amphet gave me.

but .... instant d-amp is just so much easier on the body in the long run... just need to work on not being a lazy fuck, first.

OP, your story sounds extremely similar to the start of my 3 year addicton to various phenylethylamines (amphetamine type drugs).  I'm on my phone now and don't feel like writing the whole story here anyways, but will send you a PM when I get home.
