Help with getting money back from sleezebag employers
« on: June 14, 2014, 01:55:18 pm »
I know the answer to this question is also determined by the variable of on or off the books working, but I'll take answers for either as useful information.

The question that lies herein is:

When you work your ass off and they don't pay up, what is the best way to get whats yours? How do you get your money back when they try and fuck you?
Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling,
By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore.
Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou," I said, "art sure no craven,
Ghastly grim and ancient raven wandering from the Nightly shore —
Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!"
Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore."

Pretty sure that's downright illegal. You should take 'em to court.

Time is always against you in some way or another.

that was vague.  provide more detailed info because what you posted wasnt enough

depends on where you live what the state laws are and the federal labor laws apply regardless. if you live in florida i can be more help since im somewhat more
intimately familiar with the labor laws here.

if youre off the books he better be a whole lot more accomodating to you in your pay because if you report him the state labor dept will be crawling all into his shit with a fine toothed comb to investigate his failing to pay all kinds of various labor-related costs.  insurance...taxes...etc

If it was on the books - Labor Dept. If it was off well still Labor department well contracts are worth their weight in gold!
