WTF???? Where did anyone (including Proots himself) imply or suggest we are talking about him being modded? Instead, I'm talking about GENUINE niceness.

And he wasn't "flippant"....instead he's a human being with real morals and lines drawn in the sand, and when you cross them sure he's bound to get a bit emotional and inflammatory towards people that breach his standards.

This is exactly why I was quizzing you a few weeks ago in regard to what you think a "capable" or "professional" moderator trait would be. Because you are looking for unfeeling, unthinking robots.....your whole mantra of "ALWAYS keeping their cool, and NEVER being provoked" is not a reasonable expectation for any human being that is a productive member of society. And again, this isn't about modship, but your very demented idea of what makes a "good" person in general. People that are on a CONSTANT even keel without any mood swings no matter their environment or current experiences are NOT genuine or normal in any sense. They are either just playing out a gimmick, outright sociopaths, or suffering from some other mental malady.

Anger, disgust, indignancy are all NORMAL and very productive emotions that do have its place in a regular person's makeup. The fact you believe a "quality" human being is devoid of EVER expressing themselves with those emotions to any degree is ridiculous. I'm gonna try my best to not attack your character/personna in all of this, but the people you feel "comfortable"(?) with are NOT thriving or sensible human beings at all....instead unthinking/unfeeling automatons that are just empty shells of humanity.

I think proots tries to be super diplomatic and cordial on zoklet/sanc for some reason and it's nice to see him drop that facade a bit, it doesn't have to be on such easy targets all the time you know.

Zek is already trying to very subtly censor certain sections, because amazingly enough quite a few threads have been moved out of one section into B&M. He already IS throwing his weight around, because its funny....in a month's time I can't remember seeing even one thread moved to a different section (other than the Trashcan), yet in just 24 hours after Zek is modded several are getting moved around willy nilly. Just one example of that....

I had been following the thread for a while, and it was only after there had been several pages of you, SpectraL and Lanny going at each other about the "compatibility" of various operating systems that I moved it.  Before that, it was largely full of baseless accusations against a poster with people like SpectraL being especially incendiary.  No offense DaGuru, but most any thread you're posting in frequently probably belongs in the complaining forum.

The best mods are the ones that, even though they're raging underneath, even though they're incredibly depressed or are feeling betrayed or perhaps even all of that, do not let it interfere in any way with the responsibility that they have. You also may not believe it but people do look up to the site staff as an example, even if it's only subconsciously. As such, they need to be a good example. Is it a tragedy that they let their anger show sometimes? No, but that leads into my second point.

Part of my job is deciding from among the userbase who would be a good mod. Who would be a good leader. And right now, I don't have very much to go off of when it comes to the Zoklet crowd. So, I have to make a decision with what sparse information I have or think I have. I have to analyze everything. And no matter who this equan person may have been in the past, during her time here, I have noticed that she has been active, nice, intelligent, easy-going, and hasn't ever flown off the handle at anyone here at all. I have discussed this with my staff and they have all agreed with me.

So with that in mind, when you guys tell me that this person is one of the most unfit people for modding, I think you'll understand me when I say that it's a little unbelievable to hear considering what I've seen so far.

Well, you can either be a 'good mod' by staying above the fray and ignoring things like this, or you could try to slum it with the users, but then you will be taken even less seriously than you are now.  You are a mod now, and are no longer 'one of us'.
