They were much higher than they meant to be.  And I never said which side of that argument I was on ;)

Very nice statement.  Nothing lost in translation here.  See, you aren't a total lost cause.

Yeah, the reason I asked was because on the med info sheet it says "do not use with methadone" but it doesn't mention any other opiates which I find a little bit odd...

Also, when you were talking about tolerance, It's fairly agreed upon through studies that tolerance develops to the sedative-hypnotic effects of benzos, but not the anxiolytic effects. I find that to be pretty true so far.  :)

Well, I hope you continue getting what you find useful out of the benzos.  Probably should consider switching to something with a longer half-life, but that's between you and your doctor.

Making me want to bust out my benzo med info sheet thingy.

N yeah as far as both being CNS depressants, as long as you have a tolerance to one the compounding isn't really an issue.

Last time I did benzos I blacked out (was like 10mg of ativan) and shot up all my dope.  Was sad in the morning.

Is there a way to estimate an equivalency between the anxiolytic potency of alcohol and benzos? i know they give valium to alcoholics so that they don't get delirium tremens, but if one could made an estimation that say, 1 standard drink ~= 10mg of valium, it might be effective to apply a slow valium taper to chronic alcoholics. i think the fact that valium can be reduced a single milligram at a time would definitely lower the relapse rates in alcoholics, and have them slowly emerge into normalcy, rather than getting bored after DTs and chugging listerine/eating a million billion prozac/huffing raid in a fedora for "kicks"
actually lithium works well with alcoholics. MXE is where it is at for going off benzos and opiates with absolutely no withdrawal symptoms. 6mg a day is a decent dose and I want to be back where my script used to be. I throw in xanax, methadone, oxies, and fentanyl together with booze and I'm always good but maybe I am an evolved species of drug user. If I could write my own script valium would nver be considered and go straight to xanax and I would put myself back where a doc had in the past with a 100 and a 50 fentanyl patch every 3 days. I had real injuries and if you want big benzo scripts you nearly need to be a violent psychopath. I currently take xanax and methadone so people assume I'm an ex-heroin addict which pisses me off with the related stigma. I read bluelight forums and SWIM does shit that would kill others. I don't know maybe I'm built right or don't care. Today is Oxy 80s and bourbon. I idn't even fuck around with trying to shoot anything. I like to shoot my dilaudid though. I'm saving my points waiting on some MXE and I will try a normal person dosage. I will do 600-800mg in caps each dose and drink on it while snorting an unknown amount from my bullet with a 3 gram vial. We all have different tolerances...............I cannot assure your safety or anyones in using as I do.
Sometimes...you can cry until there's nothing wet in you. You can scream and curse to where your throat rebels and ruptures. You can pray, all you want, to whatever god you think will listen. And, still it makes no difference. It goes on, with no sign as to when it might release you. And you know that if it ever did relent...it would not be because it cared.

You should make your own decisions and all that, but your tolerance will only keep getting higher and higher.  Eventually your doctor will stop raising the dose, too.

And if you make an error while on these doses, like drinking and doing something that lands you in jail for a night, you'll likely be forced to wean off of the medications entirely.  I've seen it before.  They send you to the psychiatric unit of the hospital until they figure out what to do with you, and they start the weaning immediately.  Then you'll either go to a serious detox program or will work with your regular doctor to get it done.  The doctor probably won't want to continue prescribing you the meds because at that point you're a liability to him and his practice.

So don't drink! :P

Ok, I was a little harsh there, I'm sorry. :-\ But I actually pretty much started at 1mg for a month and then moved to the bars after that. And no, my doctors not a tard or crooked, he's seriously the best doctor I've ever known, and I mean he KNOWS his shit like none other. He trusts me and I trust him so im not too worried about anything...btw, is methadone mote dangerous than other opiates when combined with benzos? Because they always say that that's such a dangerous combo, most of benzo OD's involve methadone, but am I right in saying that all that hype is probably just because so many people in methadone clinics mix with xanax and fuck up? That's just what I assume. Could be wrong though.

Mmm I dunno why people would be saying benzos and methadone don't mix honestly.  I've never heard that.

Methadone can be dangerous on its own because it takes a very long time to start feeling it.  I've known people that took some and couldn't feel anything so took more, and then more, and then more...

and then four hours later they're nodding the out and the rest of us are debating whether we should get them to the ER or not.
I'm full of bad advice but I don't believe a damn thing you say.I use methadone and 100 proof bourbon daily and occasionally throw more in the mix and have the past 6 years. I was never a heroin junkie and never got wafer and occasionally have got syrup from friends. I used heroin after being scripted with methadone and junkies came to me and I started buying raw. Methadone isn't that dangerous in my opinion, but I reached the top of the food chain in opiates. If you are not an everyday user or someone with 2 decades of tolerance, don't trust what I say

I don't think they do that anymore, my dad was on them and my mom read about some home remedy and literally boiled dandelions to kill the DTs

Seriously, getting off benzos isn't that hard, like, it sucks and stuff but if you supplement with other drugs you'l be fine, just don't do coke.

I dunno, I used to take benzos and opiates everyday and don't really have anything to add other than benzos are evil and opiate are the opiates of the masses

This from my own personal experience rings true. Withdrawals for etizolam (not even a real benzo I know) were shit. But with enough proper supplements and distractions and acceptance of the fact that life is gonna be shit for the next little while will help you persevere.  Thank God I didn't have a full-time job last time this happened to me, I would have been a mess. Was able to sit around and watch movies and drink copious amounts of green tea, gobbling valerian and 5-HTP and aniracetam and whatever else I thought might help. The best cure at the moment was setting aside the entire day to gather groceries and come home to spend hours making a delicious stew.

Anyway different strokes I guess
