the FIRST Xcom
« on: September 17, 2014, 10:40:35 pm »
I started playing it with Dosbox last night for the first time in years, I've researched personal armor, medi-kits, alien alloys, plasma rifle and clip, plasma pistol and clip, laser weapons, and starting on UFO craft research tonight, I need to be able to take down those big muthas.

Oh, and I renamed all my dudes and took out 2 enemy bases :D

I have all of the xcoms on steam I've never really fucked with them much but I do love Enemy unknown and enemy within which of the originals is a good jumping off point I've heard x com terror from the deep was pretty good

Terrors from the Deep struck me as pretty much the exact same game only underwater, all the weapons and equipment were just switched to their underwater equivalents and the world map was inverted.  I do remember it being more difficult mainly due to the lowered visibility, and more shit like seaweed for the enemy to hide in.

I just got my blaster launcher which allows you to set waypoints for a high explosive so you can bounce it down corridors and around corners :D  Its a little heavy, but damn it was a genuine Hawken, you couldn't go no better...

I torrented a file that came with its own configured dosbox executable that opened xcom, had to tweak with the dosbox.conf file a bit but it wasn't too bad.
