Say what you will about furries (and many of us do, even in geek circles), it's essentially a terrorist attack. I've gone to sci-fi conventions at that very hotel before. I probably know some of the people that were there. Fuuuuck. People in the fandom communities are losing their shit over this.

I heard that they just spread the pool chemical sodium hypochlorite around. It wasn't a gas attack, to do that they would have to mix an acid (HCl) with the sodium hypochlorite. It is still damaging to mucus membranes, but isn't nearly as deadly to be exposed to.  If the idiots knew chemistry, it would really be news.
