Yes, fairly often. I've seen the shadow sweep down my street and up over the hill at the end of the road. I'm along the southern approach to a major airport, so at certain times of the day it's very likely to get shadows.

I'm right under a flight path for a major airport, so I see shadows on rare occasions. Only happens on very clear days where the light isn't diffused. The higher the plane, the less the shadow. It has to be passing pretty much right in front of the sun for that to happen.
