I think it's pretty interesting to see how Pat Buchanan and Ronald Reagan covered up the nazi scientists' past actions. The Justice Department was trying to deport them or charge them with crimes, but Reagan and company wanted to keep them safe because the space program needed them. Post WWII even after all the nazi shit happened they were brought in the US with Project Paperclip. Then the US used the nazi scientists to further advance technology, which, along with massive industry that wasn't destroyed in the war, continued to advance the US as being the dominant superpower.
With how hated the nazis were, it's amazing to see they were protected at the highest levels of government. It has to make you wonder what kind of fucked up shit the government is covering up now.
