I can't believe how underrated "The Cable Guy" is...
« on: October 26, 2014, 02:29:02 pm »
Seriously..  I rewatched this the other day and I found it faaaaar funnier then most of the popular funny movies like anchor man or superbad or whatever the fuck.
Jim is a little over the top in it, but not too much like ace ventura, he sells it here, his facial expressions make this movie.  The whole "Medieval Times" restaurant scene was perfect, especially when they were fighting with the battle axes and Jim was making the star trek sounds, I had to rewatch that part half a hundred times.  The "Sam Sweet" mini story with Ben Stiller was brilliant.  "I think it was an Asian gang or something... There was this guy, he looked Asian... and he was speaking another language, I'm pretty sure it was... Asian."  LOLOLOLOLOLOL.  Love the fucking plot, it's rather dark actually and has more depth then it appears to.

Really, I have no idea why most people consider this a terrible, unfunny movie.  I have seen this said time and time again.  It was fucking hilarious, ahead of it's time, and left me wanting to rewatch it instantly.  That rewatch recently just probably put it in my top 20 funniest movies ever list.

I just mentioned this movie in another thread.  It is the only halfway decent movie he has done.

Wait, the scene in 'liar liar' where he is in the bathroom beating himself up and that guy sees him and he is like 'Do ya mind, I'm kicking my own ass!' or something like that, is sort of funny....otherwise, fuck jim carrey's career.

I love you Phillip Morris is by far my favourite Jim Carrey film.

Takes a lot of balls to suck balls, even if it is acting.

I was thinking this the other week. I think I seen it has 1.5 stars on Netflix and I was shocked its certiainly not the best film of all time but it's still a great film.

Personally my favourite Jim carrey is me myself and Irene. Fucking classic.

I agree completely man, one of the funniest movies I've ever seen, and Jim Carrey at his best.  I guess people did think it was a little dark, but I don't care about that as much as I care whether it make me laugh, and it did.  The whole Jim Carrey with Broderick's family sequence was gold.

I like the bathroom scene the best.
