Death Note

Interesting series. Not really one for the action types, but I really liked the drama, the back and forth trickery between the protagonists. The ending was a bit of a let down though. Not going to spoil it though.

Also, loved the intro music on the second half. Totally bizarre. Anybody have a clue if that's even an actual language or just gibberish?

I'm pretty sure that's incomprehensible Japanese screaming, much like how a lot of heavy metal is incomprehensible English screaming. If you could actually make it out, I'm sure it means something.

That ending was foreshadowed right at the beginning. There really was no other way for it to end, was there?

If you liked the drama and trickery aspects, you might like Spice & Wolf. It has a lot of that dynamic, applied to trade deals and medieval European(ish) economics. Significantly less action and life-or-death situations, though they are there.
I'll try anything once, and twice to be sure.

Yeah I would have loved the series if they stopped it halfway through.  You know what I'm referring to.

Despite a few obnoxious bits, the whole memory gambit was delightfully convoluted. You can't beat that, and they shouldn't have tried.

Of course, some would say the same about the potato chips.

It's a Japanese band called Maximum The Hormone. I think it's Japanese, but judging from their videos... who knows.

Also yeah the show was pretty good until they introduced Near/Mellow, then it sucked pretty quickly.

Ok then.... Very unexpected music.
My will, as it were.
To Zek, get over the fucking kittens man.

To RisiR, you'll always be my favourite hater.

To -SpectraL, you're one of the only people here who can insult Arnox without ramming it down his throat.

To Arnox, fuck you.

This is my absolute favorite anime. I love the cat and mouse game they play. It's a battle of wits, unlike most anime where physical prowess is usually what wins. There's no real violence fighting here just this mental war going on. Wish there was more like it, action isn't my thing- being on the edge of my seat is.
