Asheron's Call

Did anyone else ever play this?  It was released by Turbine in I THINK 2001 and was an MMORPG competing with Ultima Online, and Everquest.  Well, they never took the servers down and I guess its not subscription based anymore, just a one time payment.

We called it Asheron's Crack due to its habit forming nature.

I remember I got a disc with the beta on off the cover of a magazine like 15 years ago. I had a god awful PC and dial-up back then so couldn't really be bothered with it but had a few friends who were really into it. Surprised the servers are still up but then a lot of those old MMOs seem to stick around for years like DAoC is still up, so is EQ I think.

A few of my Asheron's Crack memories consist of getting my dad's account banned for calling someone a "baby raper" and sneaking up on my dad while he was cybering with some chick named "Sclancy", I still rip on him about that.

They were literally trying to position their characters on top of each other.

I loved AC.  I used to play on the PVP server as a ranger or whatever the fuck classes they had.  I forget. It's been a long time.

I was checking this game out a while ago and considering getting it. It actually looked kinda fun for an old game. I just have too many games though that I need to get through.
