Self Deception Equals Hapiness
« on: October 06, 2014, 02:51:45 am »
I had a discussion with a friend and have determined that if you're fine with being ignorant of The Truth then you can be the happiest person on the planet. It is so easy to change your opinion, mood, experience any emotion as long as you're willing to change your perspective by lying to yourself. I've discovered that it doesn't matter what is happening to you in your life as long as you create a reason for everything and make it sound good, you'll never be sad or depressed. Recently I had a splitting contest with someone I was absolutely sure I loved because she had such fine qualities. By simply thinking about all those qualities and deconstructing them, and reevaluating them and marginalizing them - I no longer feel any such attachment to her - I even feel a little disdain.

I've also been able to learn to do a task I've been told all my life I would never be able to do due to a neurological abnormality I was born with. By lying to myself and saying I didn't have the problem (which i definitely do) I was able to create a very unique method for doing the task that doesn't involve the intuitive skills usually necessary. I need to find out if it works physiologically though. Does anyone here have ED or super anxiety with physical symptoms who would be willing to test it out?
