Card swiping
« on: September 29, 2014, 02:20:22 am »
Could someone hypothetically steal a card from a store (phone card, gift card etc) and activate it elsewhere or does it have to be scanned?
I think it's dead

most places activate the card when you buy it,  its hard to find cards these days that don't require activation.

there was a thread here a day or so ago that came up with the idea of stealing the cards.......write down the pin numbers and make duplicate cards for the ones you stole.....then return them secretly to the store and wait till they are purchased and activated.   then you can abuse them.

It has to be activated by their system.

Hypothetically, a person could hack into their system and activate it.
