Way to go Mike!!! Its about time people stand up to these supposed journalists, and I wish more people would do the same. For the last couple of decades, people in the media have lost any sense of decorum or respect for the people they are interviewing.
Whether they be politicians, sports stars, entertainers, or just the Average Joe....these passive aggressive little punks just push, and push, and push. You see it all the time, the interviewee gives an answer...but then the interviewer doesn't like "no comment" or some other unsexy response, and they keep digging and digging. Whether rewording the question, or having another inflammatory question, these smug people actually feel its their entitled "right" to go as far as they can just to score a ratings winning interview. Years ago there was a sense of accountability and respect within the industry...and now there are no limits.
At the end of the day, these interviewers would NEVER be so passively hostile and inflammatory asking these kinds of questions in a normal every day setting like in a bar, back alley, or waiting in line at the checkout counter. But because they have a camera crew, producers, and make-up artists surrounding them all in the name of their "profession"....they think its open license to be as rude and discourteous as possible.
More folks need to follow Mike's lead, and force the industry back into having at least SOME ethics and respect for the people that are taking the time to give you an interview.
