anyone that claims to have any god worship needs to do one thing:

provide a single piece of proof that follows evidentiary procedure that their deity is real and not a figment of some sick and twisted bastards imagination

I was raised catholic myself, but I called bullshit on that when I was about 10, a lot it was just too anti-logic and pro-authority for me to swallow. Went agnostic for a while, then spent most of high school calling myself a wiccan (a moral system that boils down to 'don't mess with people' was very appealing to me), but now I'm just a plain old atheist.

But not one of those asshole atheists that tells everyone that they're wrong about stuff. Unless your religious beliefs are actively harmful (which can be anything from snake handling to 'jesus will fix it when he comes back, let's pollute some more'), or you're trying to cram it down my throat, I keep my yap shut. Otherwise, I'm pretty good at beating people over the head with their own theology.

The easiest way for me to describe my beliefs would be an agnostic deist psuedo-buddhist. If you were to ask me if I believed in a god I would tell you "There might be a god, if there is- science will eventually prove him/her/it/us/you/me/them. I don't give a flying fuck what you believe in as long as you leave me alone in my beliefs"

I actually really enjoy talking to theists and learning about their beliefs, it's really nice when they'll actually discuss it with you and go into detail and answer your questions satisfyingly. I had an opportunity to talk for quite a fucking while to this MEGA devout christian and while I disagreed with most of what he said- I just kept asking questions without judgement and found his belief system to be rather interesting. This was a man who followed the bible LITERALLY word for word, he was the most devout christian I had ever met. Gave me some perspective.

To be fair Catholicism has little to do with the teachings of Christ. The ethic of reciprocity is the keystone to Christ's teachings; "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". The Vatican Papacy began fundamentally ignoring this rule once it became the pinnacle of a hierarchical pan-European social, financial and military power structure. Consequently there have been very few Popes in the last 1500 years who Jesus wouldn't have delivered a flying headbutt to on sight.

BTW, Wiccanism is for edgy teenage girls who cut themselves. Sorry.
