So the kid was reaching for his gun, and that's why he was killed.  I'm still not understanding why we don't make all police officers keep their guns locked away in their car trunks or something until they're needed.  This kid would still be alive if the police adopted this measure.

And now we've got thousands of National Guard members marching the streets as stupid people raze their own communities and sane people are frightened, hiding in their boarded up homes.  This really could have been avoided with sensible rules for law enforcement firearms use.

As much as I hate cops, disarming them isn't a solution.

What really needs to be done is to have an independent organization doing oversight and discipline, instead of having police departments and prosecutors running investigations, when we all know they have an incentive to not piss off the other cops.
