Just saw Interstellar

That movie was amazing. It was literally everything I wanted in a sci-fi movie and do you know why? Because it gets shit right! I am kind of a fucker about watching movies and seeing how unrealistic they are explaining theory or even how the physics of the movie environment don't jive with real life and it pisses me off.

But dis movie... This glorious film accurately explains and outlines theory behind warp via wormhole works (showing the worm hole as a perfect sphere rather than a hole in the universe) then they go on to explain how relativity works and to top it all off they give you an incredible visualization of 4th dimension reality.

If you like action adventure and being a pedantic fuck I highly advise you watch this film. Even if you aren't pedantic watch it.

It will blow your dick off.

I just read a thing in Wired about all the effort that went into making the wormhole and black hole visually accurate. Something like 100 hours to render each frame, and 800 TB of raw graphics data.
I'll try anything once, and twice to be sure.

Watched it on the Mega Screen at the local theater so it was simply engrossing. I am a huge fan of things like Cosmos (I have a thread about that shit. Check it out) and space documentaries and honestly what I saw in this movie was the most detailed render of these kinds of things I had ever seen.

What I appreciated most about the movie is when they showed the ship from space and showed explosions in space it was completely silent. Its really awesome seeing a movie that gets it right when it comes to these little details.
