luks won't boot
« on: October 26, 2014, 02:31:58 pm »
So it has been working fine for the last few weeks.

Something happened and now it prompts for my password, has a line that says the root volume is clean, says the home volume is clean and then just hangs. No errors or anything. What can I do? about to mount it from a live cd so I can take a backup of all my data (fortunately most of it is backed up already so I'm not terribly worried.) Don't really know where to start looking to recover from this, it doesn't give me much to work with.

Back in business. I removed everything from boot, recreated my fstab because it was missing the /boot entry, reinstalled the kernel, grub and did grub-mkconfig.

I realized now that on a successful boot it actually spits out a bunch of error messages that it wasn't doing earlier when it failed. I'll have to snap a picture and see what those are all about. Damn am I glad I don't have to reinstall that would have sucked.
