Occult Ritual in Film
« on: October 22, 2014, 04:49:50 am »
That time of the year is upon us once again when modern society feigns belief in ghouls and ghosts, in witches covens and the not-quite-dead. It's all for fun and a good little scare--or so they say. My friends, I want to suggest to you all that things are not what they seem to be. Both films feature Occult Rituals. And in both films, the Occult Ritual leaves the viewer questioning whether reality really is as simple as it appears Here are two films I love to watch around Harvest time, when the clock winds down and the skies grow dark and gloomy:

The Wicker Man (1973)

No, not the piss-poor Nic Cage version. This one has Christopher Lee and a naked Britt Ecklund!

Eyes Wide Shut (1999)

Kidman, Cruise, Kubrick. Need I say more?
