I started writing a childrens book about neurotransmitters
« on: October 20, 2014, 07:14:36 pm »
It was just another life in the life, a day in the day. A whatever in whatnot, you know what I’m saying. Serotonin woke up and did his thing, you know how it is, just sit around and watch TV. While in the middle of Steinblruugh, Serotonin realized how similar he was to the character George Cantstandza. He always needed his coffee. Except Dopamine works on that. He’s a real motivationalist. Walking upstairs, running down stairs, smoking a cigarette, and then he disappears into the center of the other world. Serotonin walks down the stairs, hungover just to finish off Dopamine’s cigarette.  Meanwhile Norepinephrine is smoking crack because he’s so stressed out about coming up with a nickname for himself because his friends dopamine and serotonin sound so smooth, so perfect. While Norepinephrine sounded kinda jewish with a little bit of Scottish and minnebakingsoda.

it got off track pretty fast

Actually, while I feel this initial draft was definitely a bit rough, you could potentially have something here. While your finished product isn't going to be directed at an audience on par with "children".. a creative story where you replace names with familiar drug innuendo, could actually be quite popular. You could really cultivate an impressive story, if there were actually two stories semi-intertwined.. Your Antagonist could realistically be a regular guy, you'll call him Sero (short for Serotonin), and he could have a strong relationship with DXM or the like, and have a complex infatuation with his self-inflicted syndrome. I would suggest he be a part of a group of atleast 4 to 5 members, each with their own ticks and odd drug complexes outside the realm of the norm (addicted to negative side effects? for whatever reason).. I know your initial OP was complete bullshit, but I didnt walk in here and just turn you away for a thread that was destined to never get much attention.. if any at all.

If you was to write up a story like that.. Hell, I'd read it. And it would make for excellent original content over in the literature section. If anything, your personal expertise has gifted you with credible incite.. Just saying, sometimes a stupid idea can really be something more.

I absolutely know people that would buy that.
I'll try anything once, and twice to be sure.
