For some reason I can't see the pictures but the recipe seems solid enough. I prefer grilling the onions, chilis and tomatillos to get a little bit of char and smoke flavor .

Charring does add additional flavor. This is my basic recipe that I play with. It's solid on its own but there are definitely things you can do to add more complexity. For a salsa verde, though, I tend to prefer one without the charred taste. I like that in a red, tomato-based salsa.
