How well can you visualize things in your mind?
« on: June 03, 2014, 05:11:26 am »
Just like the title says. When you close your eyes can you, in your minds eye, visualize objects or anything? If you recall a memory can you visualize the entire situation or only bits of information? I honestly cant visualize very well. I have tried imagining various colored spheres which I could build off of but only once in a while I get a vague blob of light. Yet when I am in a state of near sleep I can visualize vivid pictures but they are often an imperfect image of what I am trying to achieve. Its almost as if I construct the beginning of a dream but fall asleep before I can lucid dream it. Its a rather odd phenomenon.

So fellows, how are your skills at abstract or concrete visualization?
tl;dr: idealism will not un-rape you.

Very, very well. I mean, I'm not a visual genius of course but I really do love to use my imagination.

I can visualize an M1911 which I can move around and manipulate in my mind very well. I can explore already seen places in my mind incredibly easily. This gets much harder to do though if I have to create the world from scratch but still very doable.

Actually, it's much faster for me in general if the thing I'm trying to visualize is already in my memory. If I have to create anything from scratch, it takes much longer.
