Musicians?
« on: September 06, 2014, 11:59:20 pm »
Anyone here create music in any way?

I play guitar, bass, drums, keys, cello, and I can mix and master music.

If you do play music, what genre(s)?

I mostly play metal (no not the cheesy gateway metal band shit like disturbed or slipknot)

Guitar, bass, drums, synth, vocals, mix and master my own music.
I play punk (Op Ivy, Descendents, Adolescents, Agent Orange, Husker Du, Green Day), hard rock, classic rock (Beatles, both early shit and later years gritty hard rock), and mess around with electronic experimental psychedelic shit like the chemical brothers.

I haven't jammed with anyone for a while. In the past I've played bass and occasionally guitar for a couple of punk/metal/ska bands. If it's just me and a friend on drums improvising then I tend to play all sorts of shit, although if I had to pick some main genres I'd say doom metal, punk, reggae, or something melodic and probably inspired by frusciante.

I play guitar, write and vocals. Most musicians I meet are douchebags though, so I prefer to think of myself as an entertainer.

I grew up on percussion. Throughout school, I was a bandie. I played in the drumline. I had private lessons for keyboards and guitar. Strings is what I enjoy most. I wish I ended up playing violin or fiddle. They have the best sound, imo. Anymore, I compose in FLStudio. I do hiphop and techno shit with friends.

I played the upright bass in high school, but now I'm strictly a bass guitarist instead. I also play some guitar and a bit of keyboard. If I could afford it, I'd have a decent setup for electronic production, but I don't have the time or money to make it happen right now.

I play guitar and used to make a lot of noise power electronics stuff. I just play guitar now, last thing I recorded was me and a couple of friends covering 'deathwish' by Christian Death before we stopped practicing.

A sounds of sanctuary release somewhere down the line could be cool.

As I've come to understand who you are,, as I know you, you should play more keyboard and pirate some software like ableton or FLS.

Five years full orchestra percussion and drums, followed by 10 years jazz and blues drums, followed by 10 years '50's-'60's rock and roll drums, and leading out with 10 years hard rock/heavy metal drums. These days I play mainly Iron Maiden, Metallica, Ozzy, Sabbath, Motorhead, Pantera, Megadeth, Judas Priest, Tool, Foo Fighters, Zeppelin, Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots.. basically anything progressive with hard crunch, fat tone and heavy volume. I play about two shows a month and rehearse four times a month. I play an 8-piece late '80's Pearl kit.
