Faking an earthquake to trigger mass panic/lulz
« on: December 10, 2014, 09:15:07 pm »
Best idea ever: Buy 4 bass amps, atleast 75w each, position each one in your yard facing outwards, roll up the bass all the way, volume all the way, and play low frequencies, low enough so it's not clearly audible that you're blasting low frequencies, and prepare for mass clusterfuck fiasco

This is Max Headroom. I'M SPECIAL. I'M UNIQUE. I'M DIFFERENTIAL.
THAT'S BECAUSE YOU'RE AIR CONDITIONED TO THE USUAL.
THIS IS ME, MAX HEADLAMP. AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, YOU CAN STICKSHIFT IT IN YOUR EXHAUST PIPE AND CHOKE IT.
ASS SMOKE IT.

Have you ever been in an earthquake? Nothing you can do with some bass speakers is going to come close to replicating the feeling that the ground under your feet just turned into jello.
Honesty may be the best policy, but it's important to remember that apparently, by elimination, dishonesty is the second-best policy.

Here, this plan may actually achieve something:

1. Buy 400 bass amps of at least 75 watts each.
2. Construct 16 groups of 25 amps each rigged to a power cell.
3. Bury these along fault lines
4. Play some dubstep
5. ????????????
6. EARTHQUAKE!!!
tl;dr: idealism will not un-rape you.

Explosives set off underground would produce a very noticeable shockwave, and would definitely cause some panic. I've felt both, and explosives do not feel like an earthquake.

Best effect you could produce with a sufficiently large set of speakers would be to stage a large gunfight or explosion. Set off a bunch of smoke in the area to mask what's going on, then start into the sound effects. In a sufficiently crowded situation, people will freak. People in large groups are stupid like cattle.

Something tell me you don't have enough explosives (or brain cells) to blow your nose, let alone cause a fault to slip.
