This is what happens when niggers and liberals infect a country and get rid of normalcy.

It's a different way of learning addition.  If it helps some kids I see no problem with it.  Subtracting 1 from 6 and adding 10 and 5 is totally valid.  So is using your fingers, or making those dots on the numbers and counting them like I remember being taught.

May be an issue forcing the same style of teaching in every single classroom.  That's where the problems really arise.  Also bad teachers, poor schools.

I've been doing mental math like that my whole life. Teachers fucking hated grading my shit. I didn't like showing my work because I did it in my head most of the time. They always thought that I was cheating.

When I do it, it's more visual in my head than anything else. Taking one from a number then adding the two numbers. I tend gk use that method on most numbers.

67 + 73

I'll take three from 70 because it easily integrates with 67 to make 70 which is more manageable than 67.

So after one step, I have 70 + 70 which is easy to add to get the answer of 140.

It's just another way to break down numbers and make them easily manageable.

The guy at the Chevron Extra mile likes when I had him 21.38 when my bill is 11.38 instead of him having to count change for a 20, he can just give me a ten back.  I've had kids at other places hand me back the extra money and start making change from the 20.  I tried to explain it to them, but since they had already typed 20.00 into their register, they would have had no idea how much change to give me.  It even tells them on the screen how many of each bill or coin to give back.

The problem I am seeing though is that when you put it on paper it doesn't look the same and hell I know how to do this math and it gets me confused looking at it. Being in the 2nd grade or whatever and seeing that I would flip my 8 year old brain out my ear trying to figure that shit.
