Heh, I spent 12 hours last night writing songs on a speed session. I definitely agree with the other guy that stimulants are more useful for developing an already existing idea though, although they can be fantastic for performing.

I'm mildly bipolar (mostly depressive), and I absolutely hate mood stabilizers and antidepressants. The made me feel like absolutely shit physically, and not very much better mentally. Kind of like a zombie almost. Someone could tell me that I won the lottery, and I'd just be like, meh...
I'll take the happiness and creativity I get during my mild manic ups any day over the constant bs having to take that crap.

It's kind of a curse. I started abusing drugs at 12 because I was the only kid who questioned "Why?" about drug propaganda at that age, haven't looked back, and here I am. Maybe If I stayed sober for an entire day and didn't eat my daily 2mg of xanax, my head would be too much to handle.
I was just like you at that age. I'm 26 now, and been thru my fair share of hell. I hope you don't take the same course I did.
