This is what i do lol i use anything from the cannabis plant except stem and seeds. what part of the plant are you working with?
I'd just be buying or using an eighth or quarter ounce of bud. Purging solvents/precise procedures that aren't sketch is what I'm looking for. The guides I have seen aren't ever from professionals and I don't like doing anything if I don't make at least professional-quality product/works.
I get the gist of the process, I just want the most efficient methods and the best concentration possible. (70% THC+)
I disagree with Rationahl. I think we have all wasted good bud at some point.
If you have really low quality cannabis, you won't get much product but removing the plant matter will allow a cleaner better high and your lungs will thank you.
This post from my home state gives a good explanation of the different types of hash, and how they are made. Shatter usually involves further processing than oil which results in the consistency. https://www.coloradopotguide.com/colorado-marijuana-blog/2014/february/06/different-types-of-marijuana-concentrates-available-in-colorado/
I can say to you that you will have a much better experience with bubble hash. It will be cleaner, it is natural, and it is natural. I don't understand the butane craze these days.
Make sure you get all of the butane out of the final product (shatter should get it all out) and do the extraction outside OUTSIDE.
When you smoke the hash and it starts to bubble, you are literally watching it decarboxylate.
I'll make hashish the traditional way used for thousands of years on my next grow.
I prefer wax because a gram of that shit will last me a good while, vs hashish or bud which I tend to go through pretty quick.
