Chatbox is a cool little trinket but do we really need one on a message board? Seeing as the whole purpose is to create organized categories of discussions, I think the chatbox will fuck over thread count/discussion, further reducing thread quality as people bitch and moan and bicker in the chat (and then make threads about it) and no one who wasn't in the chat will have any clue what the fuck is going on. If you want to chat, use IRC

Chatbox is one of Arnox's Bright Ideas™, allegedly requested by an unspecified number of users, and as such no amount of coherent reasoning is going to persuade him that it should be shut down.
Chatbox is my best friend.
Not to mention the fact that 'kittens' likes it. And as Arnox has indicated before, the opinions of his "council" members are more important than yours or mine. That Zek is on the "council" should by now be acutely embarrassing to other mods, but that's a different issue.

I rarely use chat boxes. I like to come here to post in threads, and it keeps thoughts more organized.

Chatbox is there due to us not having an IRC solution at the moment. You don't have to use it, you can minimize it, and I haven't seen any threads that were made due to a conversation in the chatbox. And in any case, people make threads about what happened in the IRC as well anyway.
I would like to put the chatbox on its own page but my coding powers aren't strong enough.
