All I know is people kept calling Arnox a faggot and after he left the chat disappeared. Did Arnox get butt hurt?

That version of the chat box didn't come perfectly configured for him, he can't code so he can't fix it, so he nuked it and went looking for something else (probably a sandwich).

Good riddance; it looked fucking horrible. And the only reason Arnox reactivated the chatbox in the first place is because Fang's site has a chatbox, so Arnox felt he needed one too, rather than Fang attract 'his' userbase away with flashy features. And now his chatbox hard-on has gone limp, whilst Fang's is still working just fine.
Should've called it Cuckbox.

It didn't actually. It was insanely easy to break as demonstrated by our wonderful Spectral. (It didn't take unicode characters.) This one is kinda buggy as well when one has multiple chatboxes open (they will desync) on the same page but it's better otherwise.

I really think you should abandon the whole chat box idea Arnox. The uhh... "hot topics" (not sure what it's called) thing at the top of the board- yes, it brings attention to threads. Yes, it makes the site seem like it has fresh shit going on. But it distracts people from actually you know, browsing the site? Now, it's not a big of a deal as the chatbox. The chatbox TOTALLY distracts people from putting any content on the forums. I came in last night to see if there was anything good to post about and all I did was talk in the chat box instead. You're right, it does bring the forum a bit closer together but it's at the cost of losing activity on the forum. At least the "hot topic" thing increases activity, the chat box just detracts from the overall uh, purpose you could say of the site.

Why don't you have a link to it? Example- Zoklet had the IRC links on the side of the page (as well as the hot topics but whatever). It never detracted from the activity on the site and people who wanted to chat and communicate still could. You could advertise it for a while with your super admin powers or whatever if you wanted to bring people to it.

If it is on the bottom I think a "chat box" button at the top would be nice, it'd bring you down to the bottom of the page at the chat box. If you're gonna make people scroll to it I don't know if people will come. There are a lot of boards here.

Nope. Too hard. Arnox don't code. If you can find a plugin for that which is already perfectly set up to integrate into the site, message it to him. If it needs any tweaking, forget it.
