A quick google turned up a list of laws by state, all of them seem to have some law against "unauthorized access" which this would probably fall under. I mean there's kind of a philosophical question as to what constitutes authorization to access. Like you're never explicitly authorized to load a page on facebook but no one would call that unauthorized access. Still, if you're caught pulling records out of a non-public database then that's a crime.

Yeah, that was my question, "if it's available via google it can't be illegal right?"
but then again you go to jail for using youtube in pakistan and Iran so it seems kinda arbitrary.
Was talking about accidentally of course. Will stick to startpage just to be safe

Years ago I was googling and found myself in a students only section of the Naval College. Even then I knew it was a bad idea to keep poking around, but hey, there were homework assignments about explosive ordinance, so my curiosity got the better of me. Curiosity and cats and all that shit.
