Also anyone actually interested in skimming would have at least basic knowledge about it.  When you ask "how one was made" you're obviously putting effort into sounding ignorant instead of just being ignorant.

What would be even cooler than a skimmer is a fake deposit-taker one could stick on there over the real one and come back later to collect the envelopes. It could have a small speaker on it to generate the sound of gears being rotated as the envelope is taken. The account would show no envelope was inserted.
