Title: Can you shoot a ghost, spectral?

iirc I saw the movie "ghost" featuring Patrick Swayze as a yung pup and Mr. Swayze was shot in an alleyway as a ghost or possibly by a ghost. My question is whether ghosts can either USE or by affected by firearms. This is a pressing concern as an army of ghosts with guns poses an alarming threat to North American safety, especially considering how many people have died in the past few hundred years.

I searched "ghosts with guns" and all I got was a tumblr page
