I dont know much about alcohol unless we are talking chemistry and I don't drink a lot but when I do it tends to be darker liquors. I enjoy them for their robust taste if that makes sense. Like whiskey, and rum things like that. Are there any drinks from the lighter or clear alcoholic beverages that give that nice strong taste like that? I have had clear rum but due to the excessive nature of one night with it it is difficult to palate but its been a while so maybe that has changed.
Also general info on different types of alcohol and their characteristics would be lovey.

Hendrick's Gin

Looked into it. It intrigued me so much that when I get paid (not for a while unfortunately) I may have to pick up a bottle and post a review. That shit looks damn good!
Any other suggestions?

Hendrick's Gin
I am forbidden to drink gin by everyone who knows me
it makes me fight
Even one shot and I start getting all 'rowdy'
no other type of alcohol does this to me
anyone know why this is?

placebo. i've been drinking for a while. i've heard people say this about literally every single type of alcoholic beverage that people drink around here. it's all placebo. alcohol is alcohol and it's all broken down the same. what does change is how much a person ate that day, how much sleep they've had, if they were drinking caffeine or on other drugs, etc.
The main difference I think has to do with the way people consume certain types of alcohol. In the US it's uncommon to see people sipping Don Julio añejo tequila. Tequila is all about patrón shots or guzzling bottle shelf jose cuervo tequila-like garbage. So people who don't normally drink shots will pound shots of tequila and obviously it affects them faster.
Another thing could be people doing vodka with redbull or jager and redbull, or other drinks like that. Lots of caffeine + alcohol is bad news.
That's my take on it.

That would be quite a guide and it'd take me a while to write it. As for the question about lighter spirits, there are a few. Brazilian cachaça and other spirits distilled from sugar cane tend to have robust flavor. Unaged whiskey is clear because it hasn't been aged in charred oak barrels. There are a few out there. Buffalo Trace makes some widely distributed ones. However the ones I had from them were high in alcohol and kinda gross to be honest. They were super strong and really bready/yeasty. Blanco/white/unaged tequila is aged less than 3 months in oak barrels. It has more "raw" agave flavor than the more aged reposado or most aged añejo tequilas.
Vodka is basically all the same shit. It comes from either wheat, rye, potato, or even some in America are distilled from corn. Ciroc is distilled from grapes, which I read makes it technically brandy and not vodka, but that's a technical distinction I don't care to research. In any case, vodkas to me are really similar. They basically taste and smell like rubbing alcohol. Some have less alcohol burn than others. There are differences, but mostly I drink vodka mixed. When I drink it straight I like it straight from the freezer. Most vodkas have a sort of bitter taste to me.
Rums are another good bet for clear spirits. Especially sugar cane rums. I had one from Nicaragua called Flor de Caña 4 year blanco. It was aged in oak barrels (not charred ones). Had a really nice flavor. Havana Club from Cuba has a white that I think is 3 years IIRC. It's delicious. Bacardi makes trash so don't drink their rum. The best cheap light rum I've tried in the US is from Cruzan. They used to age their white rum for 2 years in oak. Now it's 1 year. Very sad. I did a side by side right after they switched in 2008. Huge difference side by side. Their old product was far superior. I still drink their 2 year "dark". It's fairly light for a "dark" rum. Has good flavor. Alcohol is present but muted. It's easy to slam. Mixes well too.
There are other spirits like Ouzo, absinthe, and other herbal spirits like gin that are clear. I don't like gin. Ouzo tastes like black licorice. The few absinthes I've tried were similar with a lot of anise.
Anyway this is just a start. There is a lot to be said about booze.

terrible terrible stuff. getting drunk on wine is usually an unpleasant experience for me.

Ewh box wine. Better than nothing i suppose. Not by alot tho.
-
I know it is awful trust me, but when you are short on cash it is the best

If I'm short on cash I'll get a 25 oz can of Hurricane 8.1% malt liquor for $1.50.

I'm extremely fond of spiced rums, my favorite being Kilo Kai. I had to special order it from the liquor store, but it wasn't all that expensive, $21 for a fifth. So good, with a vanilla flavor to it.
Gin is basically vodka with flavor, it even gets it's name from the juniper berry aromatics that go into it. Anyone who orders a vodka martini is a savage, and watched too many Bond films.
Regarding box wine, a lot if it is better than some of the cheaper stuff that comes in bottles, but 'wine drinkers' will raise holy hell if you say that to their faces.

bota box and black box are actually pretty decent for the price. they aren't in the same league as wines that cost 3x as much, but they stay fresh for a long time
i haven't found a spiced rum that i like. they all taste like cough syrup to me.

If you're really down and out you can cop a half gallon of Beam's eight star for 15 bucks, Milwaukee's Best Ice 6 pack 16 ounces for $4.25 tax and all. If you aren't completely broke/not an alcoholic plain old Budweiser in bottles seems to be a reasonably route to go.
Not bottom of the barrel nor is it$3-4$ a beer in the stores, basically a working mans blue collar beer. Now if you must have decent whiskey, Knob creek is absolutely wonderful, not $100 a fifth, more like $35, but worth every penny, aged 9 years, 90 proof, "small batch" etc..
The key is to find a balance between finding something that isn't prohibitively expensive but doesn't double as dig piss either.
