Jeff didn't care about "protecting the community" or "increasing the userbase" or "reeling in more content" or "contributors". All he cared about was freedom of speech. And because he guaranteed that freedom of speech, loads of inteesting people would naturally flock to the Temple. The resulting community was a chaotic web of interesting people and kidiots all united in their freedom to curse everyone out and say whatever the hell they wanted to say. Freedom of speech was the only thing that made Totse into Totse. Not the admins, not the 90's internet background. Freedom of speech.
Lets consider this. Maybe those who have been charged with keeping the spirit of totse alive were unaware of the task at hand. In a community that is literally a chaotic web of interesting people and kidiots it is easy for any authority figure to be overwhelmed by what is going on. But maybe it is time to allow that chaotic web to be what it is. But that begs my question, how does authority allow chaos when authority is designed to instill order? Is the quality that Jeff had an ability to allow chaos to govern itself rather than trying to direct it and if so how can we demonstrate that quality?

I used to say to myself, "Zoklet ruined me because I post the way I do there on other forums and I get banned". But then I realized that all the stuff I DO get banned for on zoklet (and now this place) I can post on 4chan. I mean... fuck, guys. You all fucking suck.

I got banned from /pol/ for trolling white people with pictures of "degenerate" whites and also posting that gif of a girl pooping into her own hands with her legs behind her head and saying it was a metaphor for something rather, I forget but it was clever
Every VPN IP is blocked by 4chan, you have2chain in order to post for the most part

Of course I have heard of 4chan. Dont think I dont have tabs open there right now. I am invested in many communities across the web. And to he honest most places are going down the shitter. Even the 4chan community is beginning to break off and going to places like 8chan among others. I have for a long time been watching to decline of the internet and am sad to say that I dont know of any place on the internet that advocated free speech the way the Temple did. Maybe because that is difficult. Its hard not to get invested in the community. Its hard not to want to place order where there is such disorder.
