I've read plenty of threads that everyone wants the userbase expanded. How exactly is this going to work if registration is closed? I just made an account and had to do it through email, that fucked me up a bit haha i almost didn't make the account. I've been lurking since i stumbled onto zok like a year ago, always wanted to join but never did... long story short the registration being closed almost made me turn away,which leads me to wonder how many other people out there that couldve been members have done the same as me?
POINT BEING... Why don't we open registration, and push the fuck out of this site?

Dr Arnox decided to cure Mr Sanctuary's ALT cancer by cutting off Mr S' oxygen supply. The cancer is now slowly dying. So is Mr S', but the issue to focus on here is that the treatment's main objective has been achieved.
This is the true measure of success.

Regardless though with the alts if its going to happen its going to happen so why not just open it back up and try to get this place a little more lively

Right now because the amount of alts we were getting was WAY out of proportion to the amount of actual new members we were getting. (0) You're one of the first new members in a long while.
We will be opening registration at an undisclosed time though.

The active user:staff ratio here is what, 4:1, maybe 5:1? Let's go wild and call it 10:1. If you can't handle that kind of ratio, and the shenanigans that come with this userbase, then what hope is there for you when it comes to managing a much larger number of people?

This isn't about managing the community. This is about cost vs. payout. Right now, we're getting very little payout if at all right now for keeping registration open. So obviously it's not worth the cost.

To act like you're a different person. To support your views with a fake person. To ban evade.

It's tough pushing buttons. Takes a lot out of a person.

Which brings us back to the staff/user ratio, i.e. four global mods is abundantly more than enough to deal with the alts/alt posts a userbase this small could possibly generate.
So my original question remains unanswered.

Now my question here is... where the fuck did everyone from zoklet manage to get off to? I mean if we could get them back we could possibly get them to bring people from whatever shithole they happen to post on now right? In my opinion thats a win-win not only do we get some vets back but some new people as well
